Current Housing Assistance Programs 

To enhance the quality of life for Irving residents, the Housing and Human Services Department offers a varierty of programs to help homeowners and first-time homebuyers.

Emergency Repair Program
Assistance is available to homeowners who have experienced an emergency condition requiring immediate attention, such as as a condition that is detrimental to life, health or safety and requires immediate attention. Click here to view the Emergency Repair Grant Application updated July 2011

Air Conditioner Repair and Replacement Program
The air conditioner repair and replacement grant replaces or repairs existing air conditioners for senior citizens or resident with disabilities who are without the income to make these repairs. Click here to view the Non-Emergency Repair Application updated Dec 2011

Architectural Barrier Removal Program
The architectural barrier removal program is a grant designed to assist senior citizens and/or disabled persons with repairs that increase mobility and livability inside homes. Restoration Program
Assistance is provided to homeowners for home restoration through partially forgivable loans. The loans assist with repairs such as window or roof replacement, adding insulation in the attic, plumbing and electrical work. Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance Program
Financial and housing counseling assistance is provided to homebuyers that are looking to purchase a house for the first time.  Financial assistance is provided in the form of a 0% interest, deferred forgivable loan.  These funds help pay for down payment and closing cost of the purchase of a home in Irving, TX. For Realtors:

The Housing and Human Services Department receives federal funding for the above programs and are available to qualifying families in Irving. Families must qualify under HUD income guidelines.
