Economic Development
The purpose of Economic Development is to create a viable city through the promotion, recruitment and coordination of new commercial, industrial, retail and residential development in the city and the retention and revitalization of existing businesses and neighborhoods. We are focused on comprehensive economic development throughout the city and those efforts are assisted though our partnership with the
Greater Irving/Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce who provide recruitment and retention services.
We are also focused on several initiatives in targeted areas. Those targeted areas are:

The City of Irving provides a number of local incentives to attract business and support quality development. Targeted projects focus on areas, including: downtown revitalization, retail and commercial, residential development, to traditional industrial and manufacturing incentives.
